Actor Andy Garcia, known for his role in The Godfather Part III, has onboard the cast of Maserati: The Brothers which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Michele Morrone in lead roles. Bobby Moresco is directing this biopic on the popular Maserati car family in Italy.

While Garcia will play Mr. Rossini, described as "a central figure in the story of the brothers", Morrone will star as brother Alfieri Il Maserati. Meanwhile, Anthony Hopkins will be playing an Italian financier who bankrolls the family.

Andrea Iervolino is producing Maserati: The Brothers through his namesake TV and film production company. The production for the film is scheduled to start shooting in Italy at the end of next month. Plot details are under wraps.

Brothers Alfieri, Ernesto, and Ettore founded Maserati at a garage in 1914. From the beginning, it was associated with automobile racing. Alfieri had a terrible crash in the race for 1927's Messina Cup when he drove Maserati's first car, namely Type 26, for Grand Prix races. In the 1930s, the siblings sold a controlling stake in Maserati, which Fiat owns now.

Iervolino also produced director Bobby Moresco's biopic Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend through his previous banner ILBE Group, and he was one of the producers for Michael Mann's film Ferrari.

Later this year, Garcia will play a significant role alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ TV drama Landman, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Next year, he will star in Twentieth Century Fox’s film Eenie Meanie and will also appear with Toni Collette in the romantic feature Under The Stars.
