Earlier, we reported about Glen Powell headlining a film titled The Running Man, a remake of the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger headliner of the same name. The latest from filmmaker Edgar Wright's remake is that actor Michael Cera and Emilia Jones are set to star in the film. They join Powell and Josh Brolin, who plays a villain role opposite the Twisters star's character. Powell plays a version of the same role as Schwarzenegger's from the 1987 original.

The Running Man is based on a dystopian Stephen King novel, which King published under his Richard Bachman pseudonym. Set in a dystopic America, the action film revolves around a wrongly convicted cop getting a chance for liberation through a television game show.

The cast also includes All American star Daniel Ezra and Katy O’Brian of Love Lies Bleeding fame.

Wright is also producing The Running Man with Nira Park and Simon Kinberg. Wright is known for his witty and distinctive filmmaking style, which is especially evident in his titles such as Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Shaun of the Dead.

Cera and Wright collaborated on 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
