Actor Maheshala Ali's upcoming film Blade, a Marvel reboot, has been removed from the release calendar, when it was expected to debut in theatres on November 7, 2025.

Marvel had listed three other untitled films for release on February 18, 2025, May 5, 2028 and November 10, 2028.

The removal of the release date from Marvel's calendar is the recent blow to the film after Yann Demange's exit from directing the film early this year. Demange was brought in as a replacement for Bassam Tariq in 2022.

The Blade script has seen several iterations, with Eric Pearson, known for his work on Marvel’s The Fantastic Four, being the latest addition to the team after multiple other writers took turns, including Michael Green, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Michael Starrbury, Beau DeMayo, and Nic Pizzolatto. Mahershala Ali will be playing the half-human vampire hunter, and according to the studio, they are not looking to rush the project but are strongly in the process of making it right.
