The evolution of actor and Grammy-winning musician Megan Thee Stallion is the subject of a new documentary from Amazon MGM Studios. Titled Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, the documentary explores the multifaceted person behind the musician’s celebrity persona with unprecedented footage. Director Nneka Onuorah’s documentary will drop on Prime Video on October 31.

The official synopsis reads, “Follow the Houston native’s journey on the road to stardom as she tenaciously navigates fame, grief, pressure and success. The documentary unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.”

An Emmy Award winner, director Onuorah stated, “I feel so honored to work with Amazon MGM Studios, Roc Nation, and TIME Studios to share Megan’s story. Her raw and beautiful spirit really shines through in the film. She is a champion for all women who deserve their truth to be heard.”

The film comes during a solid year for the singer-songwriter, whose track ‘Hiss’ topped the Billboards Hot 100 list. Her other songs ‘Savage (Remix)’ with Beyoncé and ‘WAP’ with Cardi B also topped the charts.

On the other hand, the documentary reunites Onuorah with the studio behind her reality competition show Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls, which earned her maiden Emmy win.
