Ghosts creators Ben Willbond and Laurence Rickard are collaborating on an animation show inspired by Family Guy for Netflix. Producer Big Talk Studios' CEO Kenton Allen has confirmed the project in a recent interview with Deadline, where he stated that Netflix approached his company with the project. The Big Talk Studios production, titled In Case of Emergency and set in a UK hospital, already has an animatic pilot lasting six minutes that features voiceovers by multiple British comedians. The show is yet to get a green chit, though.
Collaborating with Big Talk Studios on the film project is Blue Zoo Animation Studio, an animation company based in the UK that is know for The Adventures of Paddington and other children's shows.
Netflix UK head Anne Mensah is overseeing the series with the streaming service's London-based adult animation manager Julio Bonet.
Willbond and Rickard are known for their screenplay for Ghosts, the show that ran for five seasons on BBC. The duo also served as executive producers for Ghosts' version on CBS, which has completed three seasons and has a season 4 in the pipeline.
