Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Juliette Lewis, and Timothy Olyphant are set to topline a thriller titled The Trip from director Jorma Taccone. The film has a screenplay that Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney adapted from Tommy Wirkola's thriller I Onde Dager, starring Noomi Rapace and Aksel Hennie. The project from XYZ Films and 87North also has Keith Jardine and Paul Guilfoyle in the cast. Production on the film is underway in Finland.

Weaving and Segel play husband and wife without a functional marital relationship as they visit a secluded cabin to forge a new connection, but they secretly plan on killing each other.

Actor Taccone is the member of a sketch comedy troupe called The Lonely Island, where he performs alongside childhood friends Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg. He helmed the Saturday Night Live (SNL) spinoff MacGruber. He also wrote and starred in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping with Samberg and Schaffer, besides directing the musical comedy with Schaffer.

Guilfoyle is popular for playing Mickey Cohen in L.A. Confidential. On the other hand, Jardine's credits include Inherent Vice and Shot Caller.
