Josh O'Connor to star alongside Emily Blunt in Steven Spielberg's next

Actor Josh O'Connor is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of Steven Spielberg's upcoming film.

O'Connor, best known for his performance in Netflix's The Crown as well as films such as God's Own Country, La chimera, Lee and Challengers, will appear alongside Emily Blunt in the movie. The cast also includes actors Colin Firth, Colman Domingo and Eve Hewson.

The upcoming untitled feature has a story written by Spielberg and script penned by the filmmaker's longtime collaborator David Koepp. He has previously worked on his films like Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Spielberg last directed the semi-autobiographical The Fabelmans, which was released in 2022.

Plot details have currently been kept under wraps, but Universal has set the release date as May 15, 2026 for the project which will be bankrolled by Kristie Macosko Krieger.

Josh O'Connor, who recently seen in Challengers from Luca Guadagnino, will next star in Kelly Reichardt's art heist drama The Mastermind and Rian Johnson's new Knives Out movie, Wake Up Dead Man which Netflix will release next year.
