With all Rebel Moon films out, Zack Snyder is reuniting with Netflix for a new untitled project centered around the Los Angeles Police Department. Currently in early development, the film is co-written by Snyder and longtime collaborator Kurt Johnstad, known for their work on 300 and Rebel Moon. The story will delve into the intense world of an elite LAPD unit grappling with the harsh intersection of law and morality in high-stakes situations.

Snyder will produce the film alongside his wife and creative partner Deborah Snyder, as well as Wesley Coller, through their production company, Stone Quarry. This project marks the fourth feature under the ongoing collaboration between Stone Quarry and Netflix, following Rebel Moon and its sequel, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Stone Quarry previously produced Army of the Dead and its prequel Army of Thieves, and recently launched the animated series Twilight of the Gods on the platform.

As mentioned above, Snyder’s latest venture comes on the heels of the two-part Rebel Moon saga, which premiered in December 2023 and April 2024, respectively. Although these films debuted with considerable hype, they ultimately fell short of critical and commercial expectations despite briefly topping Netflix’s viewership rankings. Before this, Snyder found success with the zombie action film Army of the Dead, which ranked as one of Netflix’s most-watched original films at its peak.
