Billy Burke, recognised for his role in the Twilight series, is set to star in the lead role of the forthcoming horror-thriller Outbreak. The first look was shared by Variety who also revealed exclusive details about the film.
The zombie-themed film, directed by Jeff Wolfe and co-written by Wolfe and Lance Ochsner, has recently been acquired by Premiere Entertainment Group (PEG), a Los Angeles-based company specializing in production, financing, and sales, which has secured the international distribution rights.
According to the official logline, Outbreak follows a state park ranger (Burke) in search of his missing teenage son who is confronted with zombie-like people carrying an infectious disease following a virus outbreak.
Apart from Burke, Outbreak also stars Alyshia Ochse, Taylor Handley, Raoul Max Trujillo, Jessica Frances Dukes, Dani Oliveros, and Kylr Coffman.
The film is bankrolled by Jennifer Wolfe and Jeff Wolfe under their WolfePride Productions banner. Kevin Matossian is also producing for SilverCrest Entertainment.
Billy Burke is best known for his role as Charlie Swan in Twilight and its sequels. His movie credits include Red Riding Hood, Lights Out and Breaking In. His TV credits include roles in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Gilmore Girls, Most Dangerous Game, and 9-1-1: Lone Star, among others.
