Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are making a family film, literally and figuratively. They are set to not only star in a film titled Family Movie, along with their children Sosie and Travis Bacon, but also direct the feature. The Bacon family will produce the film under their Mixed Breed Films banner, along with Norman Golightly of Dark Castle Entertainment.

Written by scenarist Dan Beers, the film revolves around an eclectic yet close filmmaking family whose real life takes a horrific turn as a dead body appears on their low-budget slasher film set. When the project starts to go south in a comical way, the family realises that they can only cover it up in whatever way necessary.

Best known for Mystic River, Apollo 13, and X-Men First Class, Kevin Bacon's recent credits include Leave The World Behind.

Sosie Bacon, who made her directorial debut with 2024's What We Got Wrong, starred in Smile, Mare of Easttown , The Last Summer, Here and Now, and 13 Reasons Why.

Travis Bacon served as the writer, composer, producer, and star of Keep Coming Back, the film that had its premiere at the recent Screamfest in Los Angeles.
