Ewan Horrocks and Rupert Evans are cast as the lead actors of Truth & Conviction, reports Variety. A four-part series based on a real story, it revolves around a teenager named Helmuth Hübener (Horrocks), the leader of a resistance movement during the Second World War in Hamburg. It stars Evans as an SS agent named Erwin Mussener, who is hellbent on chasing down Horrocks' character. Daf Thomas and Ferdinand McKay are also part of the series as Helmuth’s resistance team members and friends Rudi Wobbe and Karl Schnibbe, respectively.

Truth & Conviction, whose production is underway in Lithuania, is a Kaleidoscope Pictures production where Russ Kendall, Jon Erwin, and John Foss serve as executive producers. The Wonder Project and Angel Studios will distribute it together. Matt Whitaker will direct it, as well as sharing writing credits alongside Ethan Vincent. The series has cinematography by Bianca Cline and music by Aaron Zigman.

Horrocks is best known for his roles in the series The Last Kingdom and Domina, as well as the film titled The Boy. On the other hand, Evans's most popular works include the films Hellboy and The Canal, plus the series The Man in the High Castle.
