Actors Ryan Phillippe and Kate Beckinsale will lead Mukunda Michael Dewil's thriller The Patient.

The project, which wrapped production early this year, was launched at the Cannes market with a first look. The film also stars Kelly Greyson and David Cade.

Logline of the film, also penned by Mukunda Michael Dewil, reads: When The Patient (Phillippe) wakes up in a hospital without any recollection of what happened to him, he is issued a life he doesn’t remember by the inscrutable Dr. Rose (Beckinsale). But soon he comes to suspect that he’s being manipulated in order to protect a powerful politician implicated in a murder.

The film is jointly produced by Robert Ogden Barnum under The Barnum Picture Company and Michael Benaroya of the Benaroya Pictures.

Meanwhile, Beckinsale was last seen in the Amazon and ITV limited series The Widow, Paramount+ limited series Guilty Party, and Prisoner's Daughter, feature film by Catherine Hardwicke. Ryan Phillippe starred in The Locksmith in 2023 and is working on Amazon series Motorheads.
