Anthony Boyle and Josh Finan to star in the film adaptation of Skintown

Yvonne Donohoe of Keeper Pictures and Brendan J. Byrne of Cyprus Avenue Films will be producing the film.

Anthony Boyle & Josh Finan have signed on to star in the adaptation of the 2018 novel, Skintown. The novel was written by Northern Irish actor and author, Ciaran McMenamin and was published by Penguin Random House.

Kieron J. Walsh, Best known for When Brendan Met Trudy, JUMP!, and The Racer, will be directing this filmYvonne Donohoe of Keeper Pictures and Brendan J. Byrne of Cyprus Avenue Films will produce the film. Katie Holly of Keeper Pictures will be executive producing the movie.

The story is set in the mid-90s, amid an Irish Republican Army (IRA) ceasefire. Two best friends from a small Irish town embark on a turbulent journey. They dive into the rave scenes, drugs, parties, and gangs dreaming of a better life. However, their aspirations clash with the harsh realities of their environment, leading to a gripping tale of hope and struggle.

Skintown is set to begin shooting in mid-2025. It is backed by Screen Ireland and is supported by Northern Ireland Screen.
