Kevin Alves, who is known for his performance in Yellowjackets, is all set to make his directorial debut with an indie heist film titled Lucky Weekend.

His Yellowjackets co-star Alexa Barajas is all set to star as the lead in the film, which comes from Alves' 31 Twelve Films. Apart from Alves and Barajas, the film will also star Jesse Camacho and Jessica Clement.

A coming-of-age film, Lucky Weekend is also written by Alves. The film revolves around Gabe, a teenager, who discovers his best friend stole his winning lottery ticket. He teams up with unusual friends to get it back before someone cashes it.

The supporting cast of Lucky Weekend comprises John Daniel, Agape Mngomezulu, Jack Ettlinger, Alex Ozerov, Luke Hutchie and newcomer Clarice Goetz.

According to a report on Deadline, Kevil Alves said, "Stepping into this new role as a director has been such an enjoyable process thanks to our incredibly ambitious cast and crew, and getting the chance to reunite with Jesse and Alexa again on screen has been great. We had a blast shooting this thing and cannot wait to share this story that at its core is about friendship."

Along with 31 Twelve Films, Julian Smither and Alexa Barajas are also producing Lucky Weekend. A release date for the film is yet to be announced, but a 2025 festival run has been planned.
