First trailer of Star Wars: The Acolyte out

Disney+ has released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte, the latest of its Star Wars series.

The trailer introduces us to the characters of Mae, Master Sol and Master Indara — respectively played by Amandla Stenberg (The Eddy), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) — offers a peek of the Wookiee Jedi named Kelnacca (Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s Joonas Suotamo)

It opens with Lee Jung-jae's Sol, a Jedi of the High Republic person. A girl of the Jedi order says that she only sees fire when she searches inward to connect with her power. She grows up to become Amandla Stenberg's character later. She hunts for the killer before she picks them all off one by one.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is reportedly set a thousand years before the events of The Phantom Menace and will show the rise of the dark side of the force while the high republic was at the height of its power.

Apart from Dafne Keen, the cast of the series also includes Squid fame star Lee Jung-Jae, Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Dean Charles-Chapman, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Leslye Headland has served as creator, showrunner and executive producer of The Acolyte. Simon Emanuel, Jeff F King, Kathleen Kennedy asn Jason Micallef will also work as executive producers. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producers for this project. The series is set to be released on June 4, 2024.
