Earlier, we reported that Rebecca Ferguson is on board Chris Pratt's upcoming sci-fi thriller Mercy. The latest update is that the film, helmed by Timur Bekmambetov, will hit theatres on August 15, 2025.

Backed by Amazon MGM Studios, Mercy's script comes from Marco van Belle. The film is set in the near future, in a dystopian world where capital crime has increased. Pratt plays a detective accused of a violent crime, who is forced to prove his innocence.

The filming for Mercy is slated to begin in Spring. Charles Roven will produce Mercy for Amazon MGM Studio with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon as part of the producing team alongside Bekmambetov’s Bezelevs and film producer Majd Nassif.

Filmmaker Bekmambetov made his debut with Wanted in 2008, which starred Pratt in a supporting role. Other credits of Bekmambetov include Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Ben-Hur.
