Hunter Schafer releases character posters from Cuckoo

The horror film is written and directed by Tilman Singer

Actor Hunter Schafer has shared four character posters from her upcoming film Cuckoo. The posters are for the characters of Schafer herself, Dan Stevens, Jessica Henwick, and Kalin Morrow. Written and directed by Tilman Singer, the film stars Schafer, Stevens, and Henwick in pivotal roles. The cast also includes Morrow, Marton Csókás, Greta Fernández, Jan Bluthardt, Mila Lieu, and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey. Cuckoo premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival.

The official logline reads thus: "Reluctantly, 17-year-old Gretchen (Schafer) leaves her American home to live with her father, who has just moved into a resort in the German Alps with his new family. Arriving at their future residence, they are greeted by Mr. König (Stevens), her father's boss, who takes an inexplicable interest in Gretchen's mute half-sister Alma (Lie). Something doesn't seem right in this tranquil vacation paradise. Gretchen is plagued by strange noises and bloody visions until she discovers a shocking secret that also concerns her own family."

Ken Kao, Josh Rosenbaum, and Markus Halberschmidt of Waypoint Entertainment produced the film, in association with Neon, and alongside Maria Tsiga, Thor Bradwell, and Ben Rimmer. Neon will also distribute it. The film is set to release in theatres on August 9 this year.
