We had earlier reported that Phoebe Dynevor will be joining hands with director Tommy Wirkola for an untitled shark thriller. The latest update is that actor Whitney Peak, who earned recognition through the recent Gossip Girl reboot, has signed to star opposite the Bridgerton star in the film.

Details of the film's plot are currently under wraps, but reports suggest that it will revolve around a community that has to deal with shark attacks during a hurricane. The untitled film is expected to go on floors in Melbourne in July.

Tommy Wirkola last helmed the David Harbour-starring Christmas action movie Violent Night.

The thriller, which will be made for Sony Pictures, is backed by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.

Whitney Peak played Zoya Lott in the Gossip Girl reboot. She also starred opposite Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimi in Hocus Pocus 2, which became one of Disney+’s most-viewed streaming movies on the platform. Up next, she will be seen alongside Dave Bautista and Sophia Lillis in Signature Film’s upcoming action pic, Trap House.
