Actor-director Hamish Linklater, who recently appeared as US President Abraham Lincoln in the Apple TV+ series Manhunt, has joined the cast of Prime Video's superhero series Gen V, the spin-off of the much popular series The Boys.

As per Variety, Linklater will play the character Cipher, described as “the charismatic and charming newly-appointed Dean of Godolkin University. Trained as a scientist, he’s politically brilliant and has the trust and admiration of officials at the highest level.”

Linklater joins a cast that already includes Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, Derek Luh, Lizze Broadway, London Thor, and Asa Germann. The showrunners of the series are Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.

It is worth noting that Linklater's other acting credits include Fargo, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and 10 Things We Should Do Before We Break Up, among others.
