Filmmaker Jordan Peele has met with Marvel executives recently to discuss directing one of the upcoming MCU films, according to an InSneider report. Peele is known for his films such as Get Out (2017), Us (2019), and Nope (2022). If Marvel hires Peele for the project, it would result in an interesting fusion of original filmmaking sensibilities and the MCU brand of cinema.

Peele had expressed his desire to make only original films while pitching in on the heated debate that began when filmmaker Martin Scorsese questioned the artistic merit of Marvel films and their dominating hold over the market. His last directorial was Nope in 2022; since then, he has only been attached to films as a producer. However, Peele has not made quite the splash in the production area—Monkey Man failed at the box office; HBO cancelled Lovecraft Country after the first season; The Twilight Zone was cancelled after 2 seasons and removed entirely from Paramount+; and Candyman barely made up its own budget.

Despite Peele's directorial break, the news about his interest in directing a Marvel film has caused much excitement among fans who have long been awaiting his entry into the comic-book franchise.
