Kornel Mundruczo, best known for the Vanessa Kirby-Shia Labeouf starrer Pieces of a Woman, is set to helm The Revolution According to Kamo next. It is a film based on Soviet Union dictator Joseph Stalin's childhood. Mundruczo's frequent collaborator Kata Weber adapted Ben Hopkins and Paweł Pawlikowski's original screenplay for the film. It revolves around Soso, who would later become Stalin, and his childhood friend Simon Arshaki Ter-Petrosyan.

Good Chaos' Mike Goodridge and Hype Studios' Ilya Stewart are producing the film, set to go on floors in Georgia next year. Goodridge's recent film Santosh premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, whereas Stewart's Limonov: The Ballad of Eddie featured in the Competition section of the festival.

MK Productions, Komplizen Film, Madants, Takes Film, and Proton Cinema are also on board as co-producers. Takes Film's Ketie Daniela will serve as the producer for the Georgia portions and lead the production works there with Goodridge and Stewart.

Mundruczo is now on the US sets of At the Sea, the Amy Adams starrer with Weber as the scenarist.
