Glen Powell has been cast as a guest star in the first of two Family Guy holiday specials that will be available exclusively on Hulu. Powell will play Quahog's yearly Pumpkin Contest champion, Patrick McCloskey, in an episode with a Halloween theme that airs on October 14. Derek Jacobi will also make a special appearance in that episode as Rupert, Stewie's cherished teddy bear.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Family Guy will release two holiday specials on Hulu, with the first one airing for Halloween and the second one planned for Christmas.

The logline of the episode reads, "Peter and his friends aim to unseat the reigning champion (Glen Powell) in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest by any means necessary.” The guest star announcements were made on Saturday, during the Family Guy panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Fans at Comic-Con got an early taste of Family Guy's upcoming season with a trailer packed with jokes targeting "Top Gun: Maverick," the Supreme Court, and George Santos, plus a surprise live-action cameo by Pete Davidson. Audiences have to wait until midseason for the new season of Family Guy.

Powell has been at the centre of attention with his back-to-back hits, including, Hit Man, Anyone But You and Twisters. He currently has Huttington, and Saturday Night Live in the pipeline.
