The second official trailer for Cuckoo, starring Euphoria-fame Hunter Schafer in the lead roles, was unveiled on Tuesday. Directed by Tilman Singer, who previously helmed the supernatural flick Luz, the upcoming film also stars John Malkovich, Gemma Chan, Sofia Boutella, Jan Bluthardt, Zita Hanrot, and Proschat Madani.

The trailer shows Schafer going deeper and deeper into delirium as she tries to understand the happenings around her. We also see frightening shots of the woman who is supposedly out to get Schafer and her family.

Cuckoo's official description reads, "Reluctantly, 17-year-old Gretchen leaves her American home to live with her father, who has just moved into a resort in the German Alps with his new family. Arriving at their future residence, they are greeted by Mr. König, her father's boss, who takes an inexplicable interest in Gretchen's mute half-sister, Alma. Something doesn't seem right in this tranquil vacation paradise. Gretchen is plagued by strange noises and bloody visions until she discovers a shocking secret that also concerns her own family.

Cuckoo had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival on February 16, 2024, and is scheduled to be released in theatres on August 9.
