The second season of the post-apocalyptic US TV series Twisted Metal began filming. Anthony Mackie, who is best known for playing Sam Wilson / Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plays John Doe, a motor-mouthed delivery man who comes across a mysterious package.

The series, which is adapted from the video game franchise of the same name, is developed by Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions. Its first season, which has ten episodes, premiered on Peacock on July 2023, post which the second season was greenlit.

The cast includes Stephanie Beatriz, who played Detective Rosa Diaz in the popular comedy series Brooklyn Nine Nine, and professional wrestler Joe Seanoa. The second season will also see the inclusion of Anthony Carrigan, known for portraying NoHo Hank in the HBO crime series Barry.

Parallelly, Mackie awaits the release of the Marvel film, Captain America: Brave New World, which is expected to hit screens in 2025.
