Sam Raimi has signed on to produce and direct a horror-thriller film titled Send Help for 20th Century Studios. The distribution house 20th Century Studios is yet to greenlight the project, which is reportedly a film with only two main characters whose events take place on an island. The plot is believed to be a cross between Robert Zemeckis' Castaway and Rob Reiner’s adaptation of Stephen King's Misery. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift will write the original screenplay for the film. Raimi will produce it with Zainab Azizi through his namesake production banner, and it will reportedly release in theatres.

Raimi last directed 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role. Since then, Raimi produced and executive produced some films and series, including Evil Dead Rise, a standalone entry in the franchise he created with 1981's The Evil Dead. Raimi's future production ventures include the horror film Don’t Move for Netflix as well as the Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins starrer Locked.
