The makers of Twisters 2 dropped a new clip with footage from the film and its production that introduces a set of characters called "tornado wranglers". Lee Isaac Chung of Minari fame directed the film, which is billed as "a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster Twister." The film stars Anthony Ramos, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Glen Powell in the lead roles. Its plot revolves around their principal characters, who attempt to preempt and deal with tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones plays a former storm chaser named Kate Carter who observes storm patterns from indoors in NYC. Ramos plays Carter's friend, who brings her back outdoors to test an innovative tracking system. And Powell's character is Tyler Owens, a social media sensation who shoots himself and his team chasing storms. The cast of Twisters 2 also includes Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Corenswet, Daryl McCormack, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, Nik Dodani, Kiernan Shipka, and Paul Scheer.

Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley produced the film. Mark L Smith of The Revenant fame penned its screenplay from a Joseph Kosinski story, based on Michael Crichton and Anne Marie Crichton's characters. Steven Spielberg, Ashley Jay Sandberg, and Thomas Hayslip executive-produced the film.

Twisters 2 is slated for a July 19 release.
