Michelle Yeoh's Star Trek: Section 31 onboards new cast members; filming begins

Earlier, we had reported that actor Michelle Yeoh would be reprising her role of Emperor Philippa Georgiou in the upcoming Star Trek spin-off,  Star Trek: Section 31. The latest update is that Paramount+ has commenced the production of the film. In addition, it has also been learned that new cast members have been added to the film. These include Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Robert Kazinsky, Humberly Gonzalez, and James Hiroyuki Liao.

Michelle Yeoh had previously portrayed Philippa Georgiou in the Star Trek: Discovery series. After crossing over from the Mirror Universe, Georgiou now works as an agent for the mysterious Federation spy group, Section 31. The film's official description reads, "Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, [Georgiou] also must face the sins of her past."

Craig Sweeny is both the writer and executive producer of Star Trek: Section 31, with Olatunde Osunsanmi serving as an executive producer and director. Apart from starring, Michelle Yeoh will also executive produce the film.
