Taika Waititi, best known for Thor: Ragnarok, directed the sports comedy-drama, Next Goal Wins in 2023. While the film was released in the USA in November last year, it is finally gearing up for an Indian release. 

Starring Michael Fassbender in the lead role, Next Goal Wins is all set to hit the Indian theatres on February 2. Based on the documentary of the same name, Next Goal Wins is billed as a heartwarming comedy. The film follows the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender), hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around.

The cast of the film also includes Oscar Kightley, David Fane, Kaimana, Lehi Falepapalangi, Semu Filipo, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Will Arnett, and Elisabeth Moss.
