Matt Damon gives an update on new Jason Bourne film

He said that Edward Berger, best known for 2022's All Quiet on the Western Front retelling, is working on the project

A chatty Matt Damon dropped hints on a new instalment in the Bourne series in a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen ColbertAccording to Damon, Edward Berger, the director of the recent All Quiet on the Western Front adaptation, is working on the project.

Five Jason Bourne movies have been released so far, and all but one focused on the titular character. Only 2012's The Bourne Legacy, directed by Tony Gilroy, did not revolve around the rogue agent and did not star Damon. Doug Liman directed the first Jason Bourne film, while Paul Greengrass helmed the second, third, and fifth films in the franchise. Damon last appeared as the titular character, a CIA agent gone rogue, in 2016's Jason Bourne.
