We previously reported that Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams would be starring in the movie adaptation of the Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro's novel Klara And The Sun. It has now been learned that two newcomers, Mia Tharia and Aran Murphy, have also joined the cast for the film. It's worth mentioning that Aran Murphy is the son of actor Cillian Murphy.

The film is directed by Taika Waititi, who is best known for helming Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Klara and the Sun narrates the story of an Artificial Friend named Klara (Ortega). Klara is bought by a mother (Adams) for her daughter Josie. However, Klara soon discovers that Josie is suffering from an illness. The story follows Klara's journey as she makes an effort to save Josie's life. In the process, Klara learns about human emotions and their complexities.

According to reports, Aran Murphy will play the character Rick, Josie's best friend and next-door neighbour.

Penned by Dahvi Waller, the film is being produced by Heyday Films' David Heyman, Garrett Basch and Waititi. Ishiguro also serves as executive producer of the film.
