Four years after it was announced that actor Zachary Levi and director Jon Gunn would collaborate on the film adaptation of The Unbreakable Boy, the makers of the film of the same name dropped the trailer and release date on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the film will be releasing on February 21 next year.

The trailer glimpse shows that the film revolves around Austin (Jacob Laval), a boy with a rare brittle-bone disease and autism, with a joyous outlook of life without letting the "special child requiring special needs" impression of others affecting him. Austin's indomitable spirit transforms everyone around him, especially his father Scott (Levi).

The official synopsis of the film reads, "When his parents, Scott (Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin (Jacob Laval) is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become 'unbreakable,' finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times—an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!"

Gunn is writing and directing the film based on the book The Unbreakable Boy: A Father's Fear, a Son's Courage, and a Story of Unconditional Love by Scott Michael LeRette and Susy Flory.

In addition to Levi, Fahy and Laval, the film also stars Peter Facinelli, Drew Powell, Amy Acker, Gavin Warren and Patricia Heaton in crucial roles.

The Unbreakable Boy, produced by Facinelli Kevin Downes, Andrew Erwin, Jon Erwin and Jerilyn Esquibel, under the Kingdom Story Company banner, has a technical crew comprising cinematographer Kristopher Kimlin, editor Parker Adams and music director Pancho Burgos-Goizueta.
