Stranger Things season 5 wraps production, set for release in 2025

While Vecna and other evil forces are set to enter Hawkins once again this year, the creators have yet to confirm a plotline

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things has finally wrapped filming. Netflix announced the news with a couple of behind-the-scenes pictures from the main cast celebrating the occasion. The shoot which began in Atlanta on January 8 this year, completed production after eleven months.

In a lengthy Instagram post, co-creator Ross Duffer wrote, "We’ve been telling this story for nearly a decade now. Many of our cast members joined us when they were kids, just ten or eleven years old. It wasn’t just a show for them — it was a defining part of their childhood. They’ve grown up before our eyes, becoming more than actors — they’ve become family."

Scheduled to be released on the OTT platform in 2025, season 5 will see Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower reprise their roles. Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, Linda Hamilton, Joe Chrest and Sherman Augustus will enter the world of upside down. While Vecna and other evil forces are set to enter Hawkins once again this year, the creators have yet to confirm a plotline.

A month ago, Netflix shared the list of episodes for the upcoming season: “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of _,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape From Camazotz,” “The Bridge” and “The Rightside Up.”

It was also earlier revealed that the season 5 will see a time jump and pick up after over a year of the events that occured in the last season which debuted in 2022. The makers have yet to announce a release date for Stranger Things season 5.
