Warfare Trailer: This actioner is set in the War On Terror backdrop

The whole trailer video revolves around the close-quarters combat and the dynamics between the soldiers

The makers of A24's Warfare released the trailer of the film on Monday.

The action film, directed by Ex Machina and Annihilation fame Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza, is set during the US' War On Terror in 2006 and is based on Mendoza's real-life experiences as a Silver Star recipient during the Battle of Ramadi. The film portrays the brutal realities of combat with an emphasis on memory and the psychological toll of warfare.

The whole trailer video revolves around the close-quarters combat and the dynamics between the soldiers. Written jointly by Garland and Mendoza, the ensemble includes D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, and Charles Melton, among others.

The film that is set to release in 2025, has a technical crew comprising cinematographer David J Thompson, editor Fin Oates, art directors Charlie Meakin and Declan O'Brien.
