James Spader is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ultron in the forthcoming WandaVision spinoff series at Marvel/Disney+, according to a Deadline report. Spader voiced the character in Avengers: Age of Ultron directed by Joss Whedon. However, in the upcoming series, his role is not a voiceover, according to reports.

Terry Matalas runs the show, which is yet to have a title and is eyeing a 2025 production.

Paul Bettany will reprise her Vision role from WandaVision and three MCU films in the show. After Thanos killed him in Avengers: Infinity War, directed by the Russo brothers, The Vision appeared in WandaVision.

The spinoff show has been in the works since 2022. Back then, reports said that it would revolve around Bettany's character as he tries to gain back his sense of humanity and memory, with the prospect of Elizabeth Olsen returning as Wanda Maximoff.

However, the makers are yet to reveal further details about the show.
