The Monkey teaser trailer: A possessed monkey doll and a blood-covered Theo James

The teaser trailer for The Monkey , the upcoming supernatural horror film written and directed by Osgood Perkins, was unveiled on Monday. The film is is based on the eponymous 1980 short story by Stephen King.

The teaser trailer starts with music reminiscent of game console music, following which we see a drum-beating monkey doll, which seems to be possessed in some way. We then see Theo James covered in blood standing in front of the doll. 

The Monkey will revolve around twin borthers Hal and Bill, who are plagued by a series of terrifying deaths, after discovering their father's old toy monkey in the attic. In an effort to escape the supernatural events, they decide to get rid of the monkey and go their separate ways. However, when the unexplained deaths start happening again, the brothers are forced to reunite and join forces to destroy the accursed toy once and for all.

Christian Convery, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy round out the cast of The Monkey. Backed by Atomic Monster, C2 Motion, Picture Group, Range, Oddfellows Entertainment, Black Bear Pictures, and Stars Collective Films, the film is distributed by Neon. 

The Monkey is scheduled to hit theatres on February 21, 2025.
