The White Lotus star Sabrina Impacciatore and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker fame Dohmnhall Gleeson have signed up for a potential new series based on the Steve Carell-led sitcom The Office. Greg Daniel and Michael Koman are the co-creators of the new series. It was reported that, though it will be set in the same universe as the Carell-starrer sitcom, it won't be a reboot. In other words, it will reportedly have a whole new cast and office setting.

The Office, which ran from 2005 to 2013 on NBC, follows a set of working professionals as they go about their workday, and it derives its humour from office dynamics, workplace awkwardness, and so forth.

Gleeson is best known for playing General Hux in the last Star Wars film to be released in theatres. FrankEx Machina, and The Revenant are some of the other films he has starred in. Impacciatore received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role as Valentina in the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus.

A new writer's room was opened in January 2024 by Daniels to begin work on the potential series based on The Office, which itself is an adaptation of a sitcom of the same name from creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. More information about the new series and its cast is yet to be announced.
