Neal H Moritz, best known for Fast & Furious, will serve as its producer

Paramount announced at the 2024 CinemaCon that it is developing another film in the Scary Movie franchise, in association with Miramax. Neal H Moritz, best known for Fast & Furious, will serve as its producer. For the uninitiated, Scary Movie films parody earlier horror features, such as I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream, to name two. There are four films in the Scary Movie franchise, which started in 2000 with Keenen Ivory Wayans as its director and Anna Faris and Regina Hall as its leads.

Paramount is distributing the next Scary Movie installment, with Miramax financing it. The announcement of the new sequel comes hot on the heels of Jonathan Glickman's appointment as Miramax's Chief Executive Officer.

The makers are yet to reveal further details about the film's plot and cast.
