The makers have announced that the actor Chris Reeve's documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve story will release on September.

DC Studios' co-head Peter Safran told the attendees of CinemaCon that Warner Bros' Sundance acquisition will be released on September but did not specify a date.

The documentary is about actor Christopher Reeve's life, his preparation for the Superman (1978) role, and the aftermath of his accident caused while he was thrown from a horse during an equestrian competition in 1995.

The official plotline of the documentary film reads, "Reeve's rise to becoming a film star, follows with a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After which he became an activist for spinal cord injury treatments and disability rights."

The actor turned an activist for spinal cord injury treatments and disability rights after the horse-riding accident left him quadriplegic, which made him dependent on a ventilator support.

Super/Man is directed by Ian Bonhot and Peter Ettedgui, who also co-wrote it with Otto Burnham. The film is backed by Words + Pictures (a North Road company), Passion Pictures and Misfits Entertainment.

The Warner Bros higlighted the docu during its CinemaCon presentation along with George Miller’s Furiosa, Kevin Costner’s Horizon saga and Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson.
