Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga to premiere at Cannes

Actor and director Kevin Costner's epic four-part film series Horizon: An American Saga will debut at the Cannes Film Festival that will commence on May 14.

First part of the movie will release in theatres on June 28 and the second installment will release on August 16 in the US.

The full lineup of the French film festival will be announced on Thursday. The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will run from May 14 to 25.

Talking about the Cannes entry, Costner says, "“It’s been 20 years since I’ve had the pleasure of being on the Croisette." “I’ve been waiting for the right time to return and I’m proud to say that this time has come,” Costner said in a statement.

The Western epic is set in the backdrop of the American Civil War. The film chronicles a 15-year span of pre- and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American west.

Horizon: An American Saga features Kevin Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Jena Malone in pivotal roles.

The technical crew of the film includes music composer John Debney, cinematographer J Michael Muro and editor Miklos Wright.
