Legally Blonde spinoff series is in the works

A spinoff series of Reese Witherspoon- starrer 2001 romantic comedy film Legally Blonde is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.

The upcoming show will be written by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who is best known for developing and executively producing the popular teen drama Gossip Girl. The writer duo will also executive produce the show along with Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Legally Blonde movie franchise producer Marc Platt.

Further details about the upcoming series are yet to be disclosed.

The first movie in the Legally Blonde franchise was released in 2001, with a sequel titled Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde following in 2003. A third instalment, titled Legally Blonde Three and co-written by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor, has been developing for several years.
