Olivia Colman and Dev Patel to star in Wicker

The project will commence production in 2024

Actors Olivia Colman and Dev Patel will be starring in the upcoming film Wicker, which is an adaptation of short story The Wicker Husband by Ursula Wills-Jones. The film, expected to be an unusual romance, will be helmed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson.

The project will commence production in 2024.

As per Variety report, the synopsis of the film reads, "On the outskirts of a village by the sea, lives a Fisherwoman; smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her stuffy, small-minded neighbors, she commissions herself a husband to be made from wicker. In an otherwise conservative town, this unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos.”

Wicker will be backed by Topic Studios and Tango, along with Olivia, Tom Carver, and Ed Sinclair under South of The River, David Michôd and Brad Zimmerman for Yoki, Inc banner,  and Justin Lothrop and Brent Stiefel for Votiv.
