DreamWorks Animation has laid off about 70 employees from its positions across departments including corporate, feature, television and technology. The move comes as a result of an overall cost-cutting aim.

As per reports, DreamWorks is doing away from backing films by themselves fully, and instead relying on third party studios. The banner is now expecting the release of Trolls Band Together, scheduled for November 17. Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Eric André, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, RuPaul, Kenan Thompson, among others are the voice cast of the upcoming animated film.

DreamWorks Animation has also partnered with Netflix for animated family comedy Orion and the Dark, which is set to premiere in 2024
