Netflix released the trailer of its upcoming scripted series The Days, which will premiere on the streaming platform on June 1.

"Blamed by some, hailed as heroes by others, those involved with Fukushima Daiichi face a deadly, invisible threat — an unprecedented nuclear disaster," reads the synopsis of the series. The series will examine what happened over the seven days before The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, which is considered one of the worst nuclear power plant accidents in the history.

The series is developed and produced by Jun Masumoto and directed by Masaki Nishiura. This is the first Netflix project for Koji Yakusho, who plays a character modeled after Masao Yoshida, the plant manager at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The series will consist of eight parts and is inspired by On the Brink: The Inside Story of Fukushima Daiichi by Ryusho Kadota.

Others part of the cast include Yutaka Takenouchi, Fumiyo Kohinata, Kaoru Kobayashi, Takuma Otoo, Ken Mitsuishi and others.
