May December is an upcoming romantic drama film directed by Todd Haynes, best known for directing Carol, Dark Waters, and Far From Heaven. The film is based on a script written by Samy Burch and Alex Mechanik. The first look of Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore’s characters from the film has been released online.
The cast of the film also includes Charles Melton, Piper Curda, and Cory Michael Smith. The film revolves around an actor who lives with a couple to observe them so she can prepare for a role of a mother. While Portman plays the actor, Moore and Melton play the married couple whose twenty-year-long relationship inspires a national tabloid obsession. However, the relationship begins to crack as Portman’s character probes for an honest peek into their relationship dynamics.
The film will compete at the Cannes Film Festival. Academy Award winner Julianne Moore had earlier collaborated with Todd Haynes in Far From Heaven.
