According to Deadline, Liam Neeson said that his girlfriend Natasha Richardson had told him she wouldn't marry him if he took the role, and hence he turned it down. so he turned it down. It may be noted that Neeson and Richardson got married in 1994 and had two sons before the actor passed away in a skiing accident in 2009. The actor was recently seen in Marlowe. He played the role of a Los Angeles-based private detective named Philip Marlowe. It marked the actor's 100th film.
