James Podeswa to direct limited series Blade Runner 2099

Credited as a TV sequel to the film Blade Runner 2049 (also a sequel to the original film Blade Runner directed by veteran filmmaker Ridley Scott ), Blade Runner 2099  hails from Alcon Entertainment and Scott Free Productions, with Silka Luisa as the showrunner. Ridley Scott also serves as an executive producer for the show. 

Written by Tom Spezialy, Blade Runner 2099 was given the nod by Amazon on February 2022. The plot for the series is still under wraps. Meanwhile, apart from helming Game of Thrones, James Podeswa, the four-time Emmy nominee, has other popular directorial credits, including Boardwalk Empire, The Pacific, The Mosquito Coast, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, and The Five Senses, among others.
