Alfred Molina has boarded writer-director Ryan Patrick Welsh's feature debut When We Get There. The indie dramedy will also star William Katt, Mindy Sterling, Chris Heeder, Jamie Lien, and Alek Kristopher.

When We Get There revolves around the story of Cal and Ty, brothers played by Heeder and Kristopher respectively. The brothers embark on a cross-country trek to meet the only family they have left, the father they've never known. They travel along with Cal's long-term girlfriend Ellie (Lien) and a new guitar named Stevie. The trio are up for an adventure as they face uncertain futures on a 2000-mile journey in a car that may not live to see tomorrow.

Alfred Molina is all set to play Marcus, Ellie's rough but caring father, with Sterling and Katt as Florence and Bob, two vagabond campers the kids meet along the way. He was last seen reprising his role as Doc Ock in Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
