Oscars 2023: All Quiet on the Western Front  wins best international feature film award

An adaptation of Erich Remarque's novel, the film is directed by Edward Berger

German film All Quiet on the Western Front took home the Academy Award under the category Best International Feature Film award.

Accepting the award, the Erich Remarque said, “This means so much for us. I met so many friends while doing this film. I owe everything to you and rest of the crew.  Thank you, Netflix, for supporting the film, my wife and kids, my producer, actors, and especially Felix who carried the film on his shoulder.” He also thanked his team for making this possible.

An adaptation of Erich Remarque's novel, the film is directed by Edward Berger and stars Felix Kammerer as the protagonist. It is an anti-war film which was adapted from the 1929 novel by the same name, authored by Erich Maria Remarque. It also stars Albrecht Schunch, Daniel Bruhl, among others. The film was edited by Sven Brudelmann and has music by Volker Bertelmaan.

The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
