Speculations were rife that Andy Muschietti, who helmed the recent outing from the DCEU universe, The Flash, may also direct the upcoming Batman film titled, The Brave and the Bold. Putting an end to the rumours, it has been confirmed that Muschietti will be directing the upcoming film.

Last month, James Gunn, who was appointed as co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios with Peter Safran, shared his plans for the upcoming DC universe. The first slate of the plan is titled Gods and Monsters, which includes The Brave and the Bold. The film will be based on Grant Morrison's comic book series of the same name.

The Brave and the Bold will focus on the relationship between Bruce Wayne and his son Damian Wayne. Damian is a child assassin, and he later becomes Robin, who Batman struggles to keep in line. The film will go on to build the Bat family. And it was also announced that the film would exist separately from Robert Pattinson's The Batman films.

The Brave and the Bold doesn't have any screenwriter assigned to it at the moment. The film will be backed by Muschietti's sister and creative partner, Barbara, along with Gunn and Safran.

Meanwhile, James Gunn was earlier confirmed to be directing a Superman film titled Superman: Legacy, which is part of  Gods and Monsters
