Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 mints big at the box office

The third instalment in the Guardians of the Galaxy has been minting big at the box office. The film has earned over $800 million at the box office, outpacing the first film's box office gross, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Collider, the film has crossed a significant milestone globally, punching through the $800 million barrier worldwide. Currently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 has grossed $805.9 million worldwide.

The first chapter in the trilogy, which was released in 2014, grossed $770 million worldwide, and the second part, in 2017, earned $869 million globally. The third volume made a great start grossing 282 million in its opening weekend. 

Directed by James Gunn, the film, which was released in theatres on May 5, opened to positive reception, "It's a film that is so full of heart, yes, but it's also really clever in how economically and efficiently it uses its emotional ammunition," reads the Cinema Express review of the film.
